  • Tour de France winner Geraint Thomas: "I know the kids-tour in Berlin"

The national cycling league team Wheel Divas supports organiser Michael Lemke at the kids-tour 2022. The team is currently on tour in Slovenia, Hungary, Austria and Germany. At the Graz Old Town Race, 2.CEO Päske had the opportunity to talk to many representatives of international sport. Among others with Geraint Thomas. I saw Geraint Thomas calmly fitting his back number with safety pins. Asked about the kids-tour, he promptly said: "I know the kids-tour in Berlin" and wished me good luck. I kept my worries to myself. No, nobody can understand the unfair behaviour of the actors Bund Deutscher Radfahrer and Berliner Radsportverband. The Bund Deutscher Radfahrer deletes the kids-tour from the rad-net calendar of events, the Berlin "Fachverband" with the "Fachleuten" say adé to junior sport and children. The unanimous opinion in Graz is that there can be no reason in the world to deny the children their wish for a stage ride in Berlin, especially after 2 years of Corona. And right, where it says kids-tour on it, it should be kids-tour in it. Neither professionals, nor organisers, let alone the participants, national as well as international federations or teams can understand all this. Especially not that an original kids-tour should no longer be called kids-tour. Thomas was the big star at the Altstadtkriterium Graz and won. He is Tour de France winner, third this year, two-time Olympic and three-time World Champion. He started small once. He couldn't have been a winner in Berlin. Bund Deutscher Radfahrer e.V. The medals for our kids are here. Whether we are allowed to hand out kids-tour medals is still open. We are working on a solution. • Simon Geschke- Thumbs up for kids-tour

2.CEO Wheel Divas Cycling Team Päske met Simon Geschke late on Wednesday. "Berliner?" he asked Päske, "listen "ick" ( Berlin slang for I) ". Geschke, like Päske `s Wheel Divas, took part in the Wels inner-city criterium. After Max Schachmann, Geraint Thomas now a thumbs up from Geschke for our youngsters and the International kids-tour. It didn't take much thought. Geschke from Berlin wished Päske good luck. The German cycling establishment is different. It does nothing, at least nothing for the children. The men continue to muddle along, looking for ethically and morally clean paths instead of success. Sincerely to Allen "road manager" Jörg Wittmann, two men, and all the others from the entire BDR. I have already reported on the state of affairs. Both the organiser Wheel Divas e.V. and I are getting a lot of enquiries. Wheel Divas rider Stefanie Paul herself is actively involved in the preparations for her kids' trip from Hanover to Berlin. Or how do I explain to the kids that less than 10 men are preventing hundreds of participants from accessing the world's most famous children's and only Berlin stage ride? Can you really tell kids that the press officer Ralph Wittmann publicly declared that the KIDS-TOUR can only take place if the KIDS-TOUR is no longer called KIDS-TOUR? Translated with www. This is how cycling goes in Germany. All the numbers are declining. In the free economy that would be impossible. With "I don't interfere, I don't say anything, I duck out", we become very, very successful? Päske | Wheel Divas could feel and experience how cycling goes abroad at its recent races in Slovakia, Hungary, Graz and now Wels. Such a smear theatre is unimaginable, especially for children there. If all those involved would give their opinion a voice, it could work. Put pressure on them and your children! Call, write to the BDR and the BRV. That's enough for now. If you pay too much attention to a donkey, he'll think he's a racehorse. If you have any questions, please contact me. Wish me and you luck and the confronatists moral insight. Yours, Michael Lemke. • Update on route approval

„"I may not be at the finish line yet, but I'm definitely closer than I was yesterday."“ Saturday came the route permit to kids-tour, another milestone that now has a green tick. So one little stone fits to the other, the many other rocks that are put in our way, we will remove piece by piece. Competence comes to competence. – Author unknown

Even after two tough heat stages in the Swiss Alps, Maximilian Schachmann has a smile left for the international kids-tour Berlin, gives us a thumbs up and wishes good luck. Maximilian Schachmann | 2008: Winner of the international kids-tour Berlin, today a successful professional. This is how cycling goes. 📷 frontalvision No doubt about it! If you know the original, you don't want a copy. Schachi learned how to ride a bike and win in Berlin. Currently, Berlin's most successful road cyclist, Maximilian Schachmann, winner of the kids-tour 2008, is recovering from the exertions of the Tour de Swiss. Schachmann is not just anyone for the head of our organising team, Michael Lemke. He is his protégé. Schachi learned and trained for the longest time at MRC Marzahn. Tour de Swiss 2022 Switzerland's most important cycling race, the Tour de Suisse, took place from 12 to 19 June 2022. It is considered a dress rehearsal for the Tour de France. The Berliner was among them. A winner of the kids-tour Berlin 2008. Maximilian Schachmann finished the Tour with a 10th place for his team BORA - hansgrohe. Max does not forget his roots. In 2008, under the guidance of Michael Lemke, he won the International Kids Tour in the U15 age group. From the U19 age group onwards, Schachi was with SC Berlin and immediately became junior runner-up in the road race in 2011. After that, nothing could stop him. He turned professional. I met Max at the SC Berlin offices. When I asked him what he wanted to do for a living: win the Tour de France. We keep our fingers crossed for Max. Anything is possible.

  • News about the international kids-tour 2022

The original tour takes place traditionally. 40% of the teams have already registered. The Federation of German Cyclists, the Berlin Cycling Federation and the head of the organisation team Michael Lemke are in contact. Let's start with the good news: More than 30 teams have now submitted their entries, which is more than 40%. The quota is in line with the experience of previous years, says Michael Lemke. The official announcement is still open. It is still not released by the President of the Berlin Cycling Federation. On 10.06.22 the organising team contacted the board of the German Cyclists' Federation. It was asked to mediate in the matter. There is currently no information on the state of negotiations. According to the BDR, it is "all about sensitivities". The BDR supports the organisation of the 28th International Kids Tour. • Original and Copy - Excitement about the International kids-tour 2022

If you don't know anything about the original, you'll be captivated by the copy. And copies are the best proof of success. The original and the copy. Excitement about a 2nd kids-tour in Berlin. An overview and the realisation: The original tour traditionally takes place. The Berlin Cycling Federation today published a call for enrollment on the official website of the Bund Deutscher Radfahrer. It calls its event the 28th International Kids Tour. Conclusion: Not always where it says kids-tour on it, is kids-tour in it. The announcement of the original kids-tour has been prevented for weeks, unfortunately also by the same Berlin cycling federation. Since 2021, the BRV has not budged because of the kids-tour. After 20 years in 2021, the creator of the kids-tour website was quietly deprived of access to his voluntary work and his enquiries were ignored. As a result, the BRV shut down the kids-tour.de website. No word. No replies. Silence. A consequence of the silence since 2021, the head of the organisation team of the original Michael Lemke gathered the old crew together as usual, got money, sponsors, help and after a 2-year break planned the race again on his own. Jens-Holger Mey once called for bridge-building: "Micha" in particular had been trying for months to cooperate with the BRV board. His written offer included, among other things, a complete financial relief for the Berlin Cycling Federation, a media upgrade of the public relations work and a single task for the BRV: the organisation of the ceremonies. The little should be compensated financially. A blessing for the Berlin cycling children, because they have to pay a toxic amount, too much, for their track races, among other things, due to the desolate financial situation of the BRV. Nevertheless, the BRV board cancelled after weeks. For weeks now, the biggest obstacles for the organiser Lemke have been coming from him and his Berlin cycling federation, from its president and its road racing manager. Both of them prevent the announcement on the official website of the German Cycling Federation again and again, tactic, stall. Michael will find a solution for this too. According to cycling experts Bernd Mülle and Arne Mill, the Tour still exists thanks to him alone. The tour will take place as planned from 26.08.22- 28.08.22 on the 4th stages will take place. "Fair goes first." So the preparations for his traditional event on the traditional weekend continue unabated. The many registrations from home and abroad, the promises of his sponsors, the help of his supporters and his will to have the kids-tour traditionally take place in 2022 as well are motivation enough. "Micha" gave Jens- Holger his word. And while some try to preserve tradition, others change entire events; exchange content without re-labelling them. Developments that seem to have been agreed with no one. Whether the widow and heiress of the originator Giesela Dietz-Mey or the originator of the kids-tour website Dietmar Silber or the long-time head of the organising committee Michael Lemke - all of them have now been thrown out by the board of the Berlin Cycling Federation. The general meeting of the BRV was also not informed, one hears. So the BRV, of all people, still has no approved budget for 2022 and certainly not for the financial burdens and risks of such a stage ride. The BRV now suddenly wants to rewrite the kids-tour story, give it a different face, change it completely, and that alone. For 27 years, the kids-tour has traditionally taken place on the last weekend in August and not on 19.08.ff. Instead of public profiles that have been tried and tested over the years. routes, roads and destinations of today's world champions now the exchange for secluded small parkours. Instead of children and cycling races in public, teams and winners are now to be crowned off the beaten track. No audience, no public, unknown disciplines, wrong age groups. The orga team is building a bridge. Running across it seems obviously difficult.

  • Greeting to the 28th International kids-tour 2022

Beautiful things quickly become tradition*. Mrs. Gisela Dietz-Mey makes sure that it stays that way. She is now the guardian of the idea and tradition of the International Kids Tour and is looking forward to a 4-stage tour in 2022. Cycling is uniting people, said my husband Jens- Holger Mey in 1993. He was the idea generator, inventor and founder of the International kids-tour, and for many years the organisational director. His guiding principle was and is international understanding, fair-play, respectful interaction with other cultures. This idea is more important today than ever. Every year, Jens-Holger built bridges of international understanding for more than 250 children and almost 30 nations and for fair dealings in partnership. He saw that international cycling events are the undisputed highlight of the season for children, coaches and spectators. There, children motivate each other to be at their best, live fair play and celebrate successes together as a team or console each other when they lose. Berlin was also important to him as a host and the chance to present itself with all its facets and as a sports metropolis. Jens- Holger led Germany's only international junior cycling event to the most important junior cycling race in the world, gave cycling a future here in Berlin. He rewarded the children for their year-round commitment in the hard, tough everyday training through his extraordinary event. My husband passed away in 2020. As patron, I let the idea live on. In keeping with Jens-Holger's spirit, I am once again placing the event in the good hands of Michael Lemke, the organiser. May cycling bring people together. I wish all participants and the organising team every success! Gisela Dietz-Mey - in May 2022 *Aba Assa (*1974), Essayistin

  • Registration status International kids-tour

What is the interim status of the previous registrations? Why is no enrolment published yet? Dear friends of cycling and fans of the kids-tour Berlin, the registration tool is online since 9.5.2022 and it works very well. It will make the work a little easier. Nevertheless, there are always small improvements to the tool in between in the "backstage". You always learn something new and only get better that way. To date, the following teams have registered 7 teams in the U13 age group, 7 teams in the U15 age group and 3 teams in the U15 female age group. have registered. Among them are already the first foreign teams. The announcement of our original kids-tour has been ready for a long time. The publication still fails because of the Berlin cycling federation (BRV). We still hope that the BRV will finally release the announcement. It would then be available online as usual via the portal of the Bund Deutscher Radfahrer rad-net. We wish all teams and athletes a good preparation.
